I’m Deya, a Creative Designer living in Vienna (Austria) and working in the Digital Design area.

My name is Greek but I’m 100% Latina - like an arepa (a typical Latin America food) and it has a story behind it (hint: it has to do with Greek Mythology). I speak three languages, Spanish, English and German because my parents wanted me to be able to nap during the day, handle a stiff drink at night and always show up on time. I’m kidding, they wanted me to have an open my mind to other cultures and countries, which I do right after I get up from a midday nap and have a stiff drink. I tend to think visually, which I attribute to the math games my Mom bought me as a child (thanks mom!).

I love to visualize ideas and bring them to life (Websites, posters, billboards, magazines, etc). I get an unparalleled satisfaction seeing my ideas come to life.

My background is a bit different, but it's helped me grasp technology, social media and design in a unique way. I studied systems engineering, spent a few years working as a user interface designer and owned a cyber cafe, but never lost the desire to learn and practice design, which is why I moved to the Lone Star state to study fine arts at the University of Texas at Arlington. It was this move that helped me realize something, and that something was art+design=life. While vacationing in Miami I serendipitously stumbled upon a crystal ball and saw my future. That crystal ball was pink and had a large, bright sign that read Miami Ad School on it. A few months later after graduation, a new adventure in Europe begins. Why Europe? we can talk about that later…

Ultimately, I want to create work that engages people in a unique way and makes them think, or laugh, or cry... or all three.
